Bad Homburg vor der Höhe

With passenger car 70 km through Wiesbaden to B 42 to the A 66 in the direction of Frankfurt am Main to northwest cross Frankfurt, further to A 5 in the direction of Kassel to Bad Homburg cross, further to A 661 in the direction of Oberursel/Feldberg (Taunus) to departure Bad Homburg city centre (1st departure after freeway cross) or through the Vordertaunus: to A 66 to Wiesbaden-Erbenheim, then B 455 through Königstein and Oberursel (90 km) or by train through Wiesbaden central station and Frankfurt central station (city railroad).

Health resort city in the sphere of influence of the economic metropolis Frankfurt am Main (17 km to the north), 195 m above sea level, 52,000 inhabitants. More than 1200 year-old residence of the landgraves of Hessen-Homburg, world-famous health resort with a marvellous - the biggest German health resort park, numerous medicinal springs and mineral springs. Casino "Mother of Monte Carlo" (the world-oldest gambling house of this kind). Favourite bath of Emperor Wilhelm II and, hence, at that time meeting place of the internal and external aristocracy. Origin place of the Homburg-Hut, the oldest golf course in Germany. Health resort house in the pedestrian area "Louisenstraße", castle with white tower, saviour's church, church Saint Marien, castle church, castle park, Siamese temple, Russian-orthodox chapel, medieval Old Town with witch's tower, Römerkastell Saalburg (7 km).
