Aulhausen

Aulhausen (Ulenhausen) in a side valley of the copse is a village with old potter tradition (in 1210-1898) to which points also the local name. (Aul, Ulen, 'aula' and 'olla' are latin words for pot.)

Beside use products artistic objects were also produced by the potters. Unfortunately, only rests are held up from many kilns.

Today the place is known for his high density in “Straußwirtschaften” (wine restaurants) in which the winegrowers pour out her own wines to the Rheingauer and many wine friends who visit the Rheingau.
